1,40,000-year-old Homo erectus skull found underwater in Indonesia
Fragments of a Homo erectus skull were among deposits of vertebrate fossils found when the Indonesian seafloor was being dredged for construction project. It was preserved beneath layers of silt and sand in Madura Strait, with researchers claiming it was buried 1,40,000 years ago.
