1.7 crore voters receive SIR notices under same category, EC's software faces scrutiny

Nearly 17.6 million voters across Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Delhi have received SIR notices under a single category- logical discrepancy. Electoral Roll Officers' Network (ERONET), EC's software responsible for the numbers, processes enumeration forms and attempts to match a current elector with a corresponding entry in the base rolls. It has flagged people because of a mismatch.
