1 in 5 YouTube videos recommended to new users is AI slop: Study

A study by Kapwing found 104 of the first 500 videos recommended by YouTube algorithm on new users' feeds were AI slop. This translates to about one AI-slop video for every four to five recommendations. One-third of 500 videos recommended on feed could be categorised as 'brain rot'. Notably, an AI slop YouTube channel in India is most viewed globally.
