1 in 8 deaths in India in 2017 due to air pollution: ICMR

One in every eight deaths in India in 2017 was attributed to air pollution according to a report by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The report also stated that air pollution lowered the average life expectancy by 1.7 years. The report further said that 77% of the population was exposed to outdoor air pollution above the permissible limit.
