1 million evacuated as Typhoon Dolphin hits China's east coast

More than one million people were evacuated from their homes in China as Typhoon Dolphin made landfall on the country's eastern coast on Sunday, disrupting transport. The storm carried winds of 42 metres per second near its centre and forced around 1,500 flight cancellations, in China's largest city, Shanghai. Earlier, the storm swept through Japan, injuring six people.
