10% rise in women’s participation can create 1 mn last-mile jobs
A 10% increase in women’s participation in urban last-mile logistics could unlock up to 1 million livelihoods in 2 years, a report said. Women currently account for 1-5% of workforce in India’s $354-billion logistics sector. The study noted that urban last-mile logistics, fuelled by 70-80% CAGR in quick commerce is among fastest-growing segments, offering low entry barriers suited to women.
