10 crore Indians expected to earn over ₹8.3 lakh a year by 2027: Goldman Sachs

Number of Indians earning over $10,000 (₹8.3 lakh) per year is set to rise to 10 crore by 2027, said Goldman Sachs. Leisure, jewellery, out-of-home food and healthcare, and premium brands are poised to be biggest beneficiaries of this rise. Only about 4% of India's working-age population has per capita income of over $10,000 a year, the report said.
