10 days before raping Israeli tourist, 3 men made chain snatching attempt in K'taka

The three men accused of raping an Israeli tourist and a homestay owner near Hampi in Karnataka last week were allegedly involved in a chain-snatching attempt 10 days before the incident, IE reported. "The attempt failed but their target did not complain to police...If police had been informed, maybe this incident (gang rape) could have been averted," an officer said.
