A report published in Times of India reveals that 10% of dowry cases reported every year were found to be false. With about 1 lakh dowry cases being investigated each year, and 10,000 of them being fake, anti-dowry Act is considered one of the most misused laws in India. Considering these statistics, the government is planning to amend the Act.
