100% chance that Godzilla El Niño will last until early 2027, warns WMO

El Niño is expected to intensify into a very strong event in the coming months, peaking towards the end of 2026, the World Meteorological Organization said. There is nearly 100% likelihood it will persist through February 2027. The event could significantly alter global rainfall and temperature patterns, increasing risks of floods, droughts and extreme heat.
