100-day human isolation study to understand effects of long-duration space travel begins
Six volunteers have begun a 100-day isolation experiment to study how humans cope with long-duration space travel, such as stays on Moon or journeys to Mars, in Germany. SOLIS100 is led by European Space Agency. It will investigate the "human consequences of long-term isolation and confinement, including limited social interaction", ESA's chief exploration scientist Angelique Van Ombergen said.
