100 just a number, volatility does damage: World Bank's Neelkanth Mishra on rupee's dip

World Bank Executive Director Neelkanth Mishra, responding to concerns about the rupee potentially crossing the 100 mark against the dollar, said, "100 is just a number." However, he added that currency volatility "does a lot of damage". It raises the long-term cost of capital, delays growth and leaves small and medium enterprises vulnerable to sharp swings, he said.
