1,000-year-old idols recovered from hideout in Tamil Nadu

Five idols, reportedly around 1,000 years old, were among eight idols recovered from a hideout in Tamil Nadu's Thanjavur district, police said on Wednesday. The 1,000-year-old idols are of Goddess Bogasakti Amman, Lord Buddha, poet Andal and Lord Vishnu. They are worth crores of rupees in the international market, police said, adding a 100-year-old Nataraja idol was also seized.
