Over 100 million SIP accounts active despite weak equity markets

Over 100.6 million SIP accounts actively contributed to mutual funds in September 2026, per a Centrum report. Average monthly SIP collections rose 12% YoY to ₹322 billion in Q2FY27. SIP AUM grew to ₹17.9 trillion from ₹15.5 trillion a year ago. The SIP discontinuation ratio improved to 79% from 82% in July.
