100-yr-old building collapses after heavy rains in Chennai; 2 dead

A 100-year-old building on NSC Bose road in Chennai, which was identified as unsafe by the Greater Chennai Corporation in 2014, collapsed on Friday following heavy rains. Kangudevi (60) and Sankar (36) died in the incident. Two other people were hospitalised with minor injuries. Fire service and police officials were rushed to the spot to carry out a rescue operation.
