11-year-old esports prodigy becomes youngest-ever gold medallist in Asian Games history

Japan's 11-year-old Yuki Kurihara won gold medal in Puyo Puyo Champions esports at Asian Games 2026, defeating South Korea's 24-year-old Kang Dong-shin 10-2 in the final. Kurihara, a primary school student, has become the youngest gold medallist in Asian Games history. Kurihara said he felt embarrassed and couldn't show his emotions or change his facial expression much after the victory.
