1.14 lakh affected by floods in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills

At least 1.14 lakh people in 154 villages have been affected after rainfall and rising waters of two rivers led to floods in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district, officials said on Monday. The low-lying areas of the state's capital Shillong have also been flooded. Efforts are on to evacuate the flood victims and take them to safer locations, officials added.
