11-month-old cougar kept as illegal pet removed from New York flat

An 11-month-old cougar was removed from a New York City apartment where she was being kept illegally as a pet. The cougar, named Sasha, has been sent to a wildlife refuge, animal welfare officials said. Cougars "may look cute and cuddly" when young, but can grow up to be "unpredictable and dangerous", Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Basil Seggos said.
