12 lakh declare 'No Caste’, yet 95% marry within clan in Telangana

Telangana caste survey revealed that the state has a large, diverse group of 'No Caste' people. However, majority these of ‘No Castes’ have caste certificates, and 13.5% admitted to having availed quota benefits. These people, largely affluent and urban-based, could afford to shed their caste tag compared to their counterparts in villages where people know each other in detail.
