12 members elected to Rajya Sabha, NDA nears majority mark

The ruling NDA is close to the majority mark of 119 in Rajya Sabha after nine BJP members and two from its allies were elected unopposed in the by-polls. Now, BJP's strength has reached 96, taking the NDA's tally to 112. One member of Congress also got elected, taking the Opposition INDIA bloc's numbers in Rajya Sabha to 85.
