12 workers trapped in under-construction tunnel after landslide in Sikkim

Twelve workers remained trapped inside an under-construction tunnel in Sikkim's Namchi district on Monday after a landslide, reportedly triggered by a methane gas explosion, blocked its entrance. Rescue operations are underway but are being hindered by hazardous gas, poor visibility and low oxygen levels. NDRF, SDRF, police and fire services are carrying out the rescue operations.
