14 of 19 Indian Paralympians ranked in world's top 10

Fourteen athletes from India's 19-member Paralympic squad are ranked within the top ten in their respective categories. While Mariyappan Thangavelu, who won gold in men’s high jump on Saturday, is world number one in the T42 disability category, bronze winner Varun Singh Bhati is ranked second. Deepa Malik, ranked world number seven in shotput, is India's highest ranked female competitor.
