145-year-old IMD launches 1st weather app 'Mausam' for general public

The Ministry of Earth Sciences has launched a mobile application 'Mausam' for India Meteorological Department (IMD) in order to enable users to track weather updates among other features. This is the first app by the 145-year-old IMD that is meant for general public. It also has another app, Meghdoot, meant only for farmers and those involved in agriculture.
