14-legged sea cockroach found in Indian Ocean identified as new species
A 14-legged sea cockroach found in the Indian Ocean has recently been identified as new species 'Bathynomus raksasa' by researchers from Singapore after studying it for two years. Stating it as "supergiant" isopod, the researchers mentioned that Bathynomus raksasa measures around 50cm (1.6 feet) in length. The cockroach uses legs only to crawl along the ocean bed while searching food.
