15 lakh vehicles enter Shimla in last 45 days as tourist rush to escape heat

Around 15 lakh vehicles entered Shimla in 45 days between May 1 and June 15 to escape heat. The tourist influx has sparked frequent traffic jams, with average occupancy at tourist accommodations across Himachal Pradesh rising to 80-90% on the weekend. Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh said that police have prepared a five-point strategy to deal with the rush.
