16 dead, several trapped after blast in illegal coal mine in Meghalaya

At least 16 labourers have died and several others are feared trapped in a blast in an illegal coal mine in Meghalaya's East Jaintia Hills district, police said on Thursday. "The exact number of labourers present inside the mine at the time of the explosion is yet to be ascertained," police added.
