16 states, 3 UTs to undergo SIR as EC announces phase 3 rollout

The Election Commission of India has announced Phase 3 of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which will cover 16 states and 3 Union Territories, including Maharashtra, Delhi and Karnataka. The exercise will cover 36.73 crore electors. According to the schedule, the house-to-house visit by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) is slated between May 30 and October 14.
