175-yr-old US glassmaking firm shifts focus to AI, stock rises 19%
Corning, a 175-year-old US company specialising in glass, ceramics and related materials, is partnering with Nvidia to manufacture advanced optical connectivity solutions needed to power AI infrastructure. Nvidia is getting warrants to buy up to 15 million Corning shares at an exercise price of $180 per share. Corning shares rose by more than 19% in early trading following the announcement.
