17,500 rescued from flood-affected areas of Assam: NDRF

A spokesperson for the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Thursday said that about 17,500 people have been rescued till now from the flood-affected areas of Assam. A total of 26 NDRF teams are operating in 14 flood-affected districts of the state, the spokesperson added. Nearly 55 lakh people in the state have been affected by the flood.
