18-day staff strike may hit Samsung day-to-day profit by $20.79 bn

A looming 18-day strike at South Korean chip giant Samsung could impact its operating profit by $14.08 billion to $20.79 billion, while sales losses could stand at about $3.00 billion, according to JPMorgan. More than 45,000 workers are threatening to stage the largest strike in the conglomerate's history from May 21 over compensation and performance-based bonuses.
