18 dead, several critical after consuming methanol-laced liquor in Pune

Around 18 people died and several others were left in critical condition after allegedly consuming methanol-laced liquor in and around Pune. The deaths were reported from Pimpri Chinchwad’s Phugewadi area and Pune’s Hadapsar on Thursday. A bootlegger, identified as Yogesh Wankhede, accused of supplying country liquor to these areas has been detained, and a case has been registered against him.
