18 dead after shootout between rival drug cartels in Mexico

Eighteen people were killed on Friday after a shootout between members of rival drug gangs in Mexico, authorities said. The shootout was reportedly a result of a confrontation between the gunmen over drug trafficking routes. Three vehicles, one of them burned out, were found at the scene, they added. Mexico's drug wars have claimed more than 3,00,000 lives since 2006.
