18 lakh Ford Explorer SUVs under probe by US govt agency

US government agency NHTSA has opened a safety probe into 18 lakh Ford Explorer SUVs over reports saying the windshield trim panels can detach while driving at highway speeds. The NHTSA has opened a preliminary evaluation into 2011 through 2019 model year Explorer SUVs. It said the detached part could hit the windshield of another vehicle or motorcyclist.
