As per the results declared for Saudi Arabia's historic elections where women voted and participated as candidates for the first time, at least 20 women candidates have won seats in the municipal council. Over 900 women were running for 284 council seats alongside 5,938 male candidates. Around 130,000 women and 1.35 million men registered to vote in Saturday's poll.
