1,800 children expelled by Dominican Republic to Haiti: UNICEF

The Dominican Republic has expelled at least 1,800 Haitian unaccompanied migrant children this year, the UNICEF said. The Dominican Republic has denied the charge. Illegal immigration from Haiti has increased in recent months following a cholera outbreak and gang violence in the country. The crisis in Haiti has worsened after President Jovenel Moise was assassinated in 2021.
