19,643 classes empty, 3,504 schools have one teacher in U'khand

A report published on March 10 by Uttarakhand's rural development and migration commission revealed that 3,504 schools rely on a single teacher, and 10,470 out of 17,787 schools (59%) have no principal. It also found 19,643 classes have no students while 8,324 have only one student. Additionally, in 180 schools, 242 teachers are each teaching only one student.
