19 months of foreign investor selling Indian equities wipes out 100 months of inflows

Sustained selling by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) over 19 months has erased the net inflow accumulated over the preceding 100 months, CNBC-TV18 reported, citing NSDL data. FIIs invested about $45.9 billion in Indian equities between September 2016 and December 2024, while withdrawing nearly $46 billion between January 2025 and July 2026. August, however, has seen a reversal in the trend.
