19-year-old who killed Punjab ASI, shot dead in encounter in Amritsar

A 19-year-old accused, Karanbir Singh, alias Nandi, who allegedly killed Punjab Police ASI Jaswant Singh, has been shot dead in an encounter with the Amritsar Rural police. The police said Nandi, who was going on a motorcycle, began firing when asked to stop. The police retaliated, hitting him in the leg and chest, after which he died in the hospital.
