1903 Storm Ulysses one of most severe to hit England, Wales: Study

Scientists have found that the 1903 storm 'Storm Ulysses' was one of the most severe storms to have hit the British Isles. "We knew the storm we analysed was a big one, but we didn't know our rescued data would show that it is among the top four storms for strongest winds," University of Reading's Professor Ed Hawkins said.
