Tamil Nadu announces 10% hike in DA for govt employees

Following centre's approval to 10% rise in DA, Tamil Nadu's CM J Jayalalithaa on Thursday announced a 10% hike in Dearness Allowance for state govt employees, effective from July 1, this year. The hike is applicable to 18 lakh government employees including officers, teachers, anganwadi workers, village panchayat assistants etc. and would cost state exchequer Rs 2,292.78 crore annually.
