1st ever international football match was played on cricket ground

The first-ever official international football match was played between England and Scotland on the cricket ground of West of Scotland Cricket Club in Scotland's largest city Glasgow on November 30, 1872. As many as 4,000 spectators turned up for the match, which finished in a 0-0 draw. England played the match with a 1-1-8 formation while Scotland used 2-2-6.
