1st part of Oxford Dictionary had words from 'a' to 'ant'

The first-ever portion of the Oxford English Dictionary, published on February 1, 1884, contained the meaning, pronunciation and history of words from 'a' to 'ant'. The dictionary took 44 more years to complete as the final and 125th portion was published in 1928. Interestingly, it was earlier estimated that the entire dictionary would be completed in 10 years.
