1st same-sex wedding between Nepali, US national held in Kathmandu

A Nepali and a US citizen held a same-sex wedding ceremony in Nepal's Kathmandu, the first such instance involving a foreigner in the Himalayan nation after its Supreme Court allowed same sex marriage. The wedding between Prajeet Budhathoki and Joseph Foster Elis was solemnised in a hotel as per Hindu rituals and the couple later exchanged rings.
