1st shipment of Assam's GI-tagged Tezpur Litchi sent to Dubai

The first export shipment of Assam's Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged Tezpur litchi has been sent to Dubai, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said on Monday. Goyal added that the export will give global recognition and create new opportunities for agricultural products from the Northeast. Litchis grown in Assam's Tezpur received a GI tag in 2015.
