2,205 sewer manholes still uncovered in Mumbai after man died of falling into manhole

Around 2,205 sewer manholes across Mumbai are yet to be fitted with protective grills or manhole covers, days after a 55-year-old man lost his life after falling into a sewer manhole, Indian Express reported. This is despite the fact that all manholes were ordered to be fitted with protective grills by May 31. Most uncovered manholes are in South Mumbai.
