2 Airtel managers arrested for issuing 530 virtual numbers to fraudsters abroad

Two Airtel managers were arrested from Gurugram for issuing 530 virtual numbers to Indonesian and Chinese cyber fraudsters. They were arrested after an investigation found a woman lost ₹10,000 to fraudsters who contacted her through a virtual number issued by the duo. Telcos issue virtual numbers to companies and call centres for making multiple calls to customers in a day.
