2 lakh trees to be cut for AI township near Bengaluru, farmers protest

Around two lakh trees are proposed to be cut near Bengaluru for the proposed Bidadi AI township, against which farmers are protesting. Seen as CM DK Shivakumar's ambitious project, the township could cover 7,481 acres across nine villages. Protesting farmers are saying that fertile farmland is being taken away. BJP and JD(S) have been attacking Congress government over the same.
