2-month-old survives cardiac arrest after aortic coarctation

Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad, treated a 2-month-old with severe coarctation of the aorta who suffered cardiac arrest. CPR restored circulation, followed by balloon angioplasty and stenting. The infant received NICU care for seizures, infection, shock and coagulopathy. Multidisciplinary care led to gradual improvement, with the baby successfully weaned off ventilatory support and inotropes.
