2 new stick insect species found in Aus, one of them 'fooled' scientists for decades

Researchers at University of Sydney found that Australian stick insects previously classified as two species are actually five distinct species, two of which are newly described. One of these, Anchiale robusta, "fooled" scientists because they had misidentified it for decades. The other, Anchiale mabiensis, found in Queensland's critically endangered Mabi rainforest, has uniquely lidded eggs.
