2 people died before Biparjoy landfall, 24 animals also died: NDRF

NDRF DG Atul Karwal has said that two people died before Cyclone Biparjoy made landfall in Gujarat on Thursday. "Twenty-four animals have also died...Twenty-three people have sustained injuries...Electricity supply has been interrupted in about a thousand villages," he added. He also said that only Rajkot is experiencing heavy rainfall. Earlier, IMD said the cyclone would weaken by noon.
